Who We Are

The Big Island Farm Bureau (BIFB) currently represents 650 farms, ranch families and agricultural organizations. BIFB is directly affiliated with the State of Hawai’i Farm Bureau Federation and the national American Farm Bureau Federation The Farm Bureau is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary organization of individuals committed to seeking solution to the problems of the farm and the rural community. Through organized action, Big Island Farm Bureau works to represent, protect, and advance the social, economic and educational interests of the farmers of Hawaii .

Hawaii AgVentures is an agriculture tourism project created by the Big Island Farm Bureau. Hawaii AgVentures facilitates markets and promotes on-site farm visits for our farm participants. It actively recruits farms island wide and offers them training and support. The project’s primary goal is to provide Hawaii farmers the opportunity to expand their marketing operations and increase profitability and sustainability through educational farm tours. This project is an earned income project for Big Island Farm Bureau. This project has been supported in part by the Hawaii Dept. of Agriculture, The Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation, The County of Hawaii Research & Development & the Hawaii Tourism Authorty.

Due to the demand for multiple island tours, we intend to expand the project state wide to include Hawaii Farm Bureau members from throughout the state. In addition, we are an information source for individuals seeking Hawaii agriculture products. Hawaii AgVentures is committed to helping our farm participants increase business in anyway that we can by forwarding all inquiries or by providing contact information.
